The main street of this small town in Victoria’s South West proudly sports many more businesses than is first apparent. Unlike in Ascot and Swifts Creek I knew no-one here but this town fit the bill of the missing element in my trilogy of life… Work, Play and Trade.
Twenty-four large photographs were exhibited in the window of an agricultural supply business between the post office and the newsagent. The collection caused simultaneous amusement and pride amongst the locals as they stood back and admired the wealth of endeavour in their town. They jokingly called it “Mortlake’s Most Wanted”.
